Fiordland Advocate - Talking down the Sewer Pipe

Posted to the Fiordland Advocate 17th January 2014

I like what your Devil’s Advocate has to say so far, but there is something I should mention,
Malicious tongues say it appears now that the only real reason to pump sewage waste to the Manapouri Airport is
To save a bit of money, If the Te Anau Treatment was upgraded to be able to produce potable water this crazy pipeline
Project Would not be needed, and in a way this leads on to the Devil’s Advocate debate about the future of the Basin.

We have to stop this nonsense that Manapouri and Te Anau have different destinies. Te Anau has twisted it head to the North and has not considered the lands to the South in the Big Picture.
Also the Roll of the Government has been vastly underrated in your Crystal Ball, if that Ball could look back in time you would see all the main settlement started to the South and ALL our current infrastructure was of Governmental origin in one way or another and that includes all our major Tourist Companies.
Speaking for the Devil Pro-Bono,  We are not so much cleaver business people here as just DAM lucky!
And of coarse one John Cochburn who dreamed of a Road to Milford Sound, still a great Destination for any tourist worth their salt only now the Majority of visits will be by sea and not on John Cochburn’s Road Network and the Great Fiordland Lakes.
