Re the opinion on Free thinking

People are Ignorant,
Yes in the West faith is a matter of choice and Free thinking in some cases
But in the Third World and the Middle East, ordinary people do not have an option but to
Do as they are told when it comes to faith and even in the USA the same applies within family groups.

Also terrorism is not random Violence perpetrated by self-centered individuals, it is almost always the manifestation of disorganized discontent
By sorry arse people in dire distress who can not or will not be heard in any other way.

(refer Terry Gillian’s Movie “Brazil”).

The Nations that suffered the Great War 100 years all went on to embrace the concept of “Thinking”
Sadly all the Countries and Peoples who escaped that Carnage still sternly believe in the Hand of God

This explains in part why Heartland USA Saudi Arabia and Non European Jews still get totally high on Blind Faith and feel the need to crank up another holocaust!

...And there will always be a Dick Chaney who will sell them the tools to do it..

Gallipoli the ANZAC lession impact today

Posted 14th May 2015 to the Southland Times Newspaper Invercargill NZ

With the centenary of Gallipoli going on I keep hearing the same statement that all those men in World War One died for no reason.
Perhaps there was no logical objective for all the killing at the time but the result in the peace that followed was a great change for the ordinary People of the World
Especially For all the Countries involved  because the greatest driver to send the young men off to die was the Aristocracy of Church and State
consequentially the Countries of greatest loss decided never again to let leaders of faith & privilege have such power again... and the People’s Century was born.

It’s not been a Easy Road but our modern freedoms are definitely the result of the great tragedy that was the Great War...
As for Gallipoli It certainly highlighted the philosophy to “Quit while your ahead”. And know when your day has passed !

Not all battles are to be won.  Something modern Generals and Leaders should reflect on more often.

Teflon John - New Zealand's famous PM

Posted 5th May 2015 to the Dominion Post Newspaper Wellington NZ

One has to admire our Prime Minister..
Teflon John is a genius, he has cracked the Kiwi Psyche and can do no wrong.

The Secret is the Tall Poppy Syndrome... Avoid any hint of Pomposity and Stuffy Moral Authority
Just do your job and don’t look flustered under fire.

Act Humble, Leadership is seen best as a childhood ambition not a serious calling, the old saying holds true in the Hearts of Nz’ers
That Nobody Likes a Smart-Arse. Don’t be stupid but avoid looking like anything more than a middling Intellectual.

If you Can, look a bit dreamy as nobody feels threatened by that. (note to David Cunliffe)

Remember that a Prime Minister is a fancy Civil Servant and not a Dictator or people will expect too much from you..

And don’t Forget that Half the Country don’t really want to vote for anyone so they are not in the game, they just bleat from the Sidelines.

Child Poverty Crisis NZ - The Hard Choices

Posted 4th May 2015 to Radio New Zealand's Sunday Morning Program.

Given that we are part of a Global Village I think all Humans need to get together on this one .
However if I was A Ruling Political Party in NZ wanting to give us a Better Future I would do three things
1st a %100 percent Tax on Property Sales involving Overseas Buyers of New Zealand Property. 2nd a Transaction Tax on all Internet Movements of Large Sums of Money. And Third, Give free Food and Healthcare to all one child Families in poverty.

If one wanted to go a step further...  Cancel all student loans for essential professions. And Cap all High end salaries to a sane level.

One would have to have the Power of Stalin to pull it off but that would fix Child Poverty good and proper.

Money isn’t Real, Actions Are.. Truly Everything on this planet is about HUMANS and their future and nothing else matters what so ever.

... to any non Humans...

Frana Cardno - Memorial Walkway

Posted 4th May 2015 to the Southland Express Newspaper Invercargill

Thank you for doing a nice write up on the late Frana Cardno our Colourful ex Southland District Mayoress
I would love to see the District Council remember Frana and Her Husband Murray in a project they both supported: the Manapouri Te Anau Cycleway.
There was one area in question that would be deserving, the Manapouri End of the Cycle Trail had an Easement to the Summit of View Hill set aside
For the Cycletrail and the People of Te Anau and Manapouri.Frana said on Several occasions that the new Moturau Heights Subdivision Needed this yet
It somehow got inadvertently removed by an Council “bungle”. It was Put to the Council that the lake in the Subdivision Reserve Should be named Manuska Pond after Frana’s Childhood Nick Name
And that as the Reserve Parking Area could be easily linked by Walkway to View Hill through the National Park that could then be named the Cardino Walkway making View Hill 360 Panarama  Frana and Murray’s Memorial. Which Would in turn be linked through to the near by Manapouri Te Anau  Cycleway project...

Feel Free to ask the SDC to Comment :-)

Saudi Arabia and Amercan Freinds

Posted 4th May 2015 to the Southland Times Newspaper Invercargill Southland NZ

I see today our elected representatives want to cozy up to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia...

They do realize that it is not a Happy Kingdom. Just try to be a medieval style Kingdom with almost limitless oil money
In the 21st century, it’s not an easy road.  Their Government has a lot in common with North Korea but North Korea at least isn’t conflicted with having too much money and influence In a World of humanity they can’t understand, making them annoyed and confused.

The Saudi’s Mentor is the USA who does understand Humanity very well but for some reason “they” just bungled the Kingdom into a War that could break them!
It’s not escaped some observers that Sadam Hussein did something similar under US Advice and that didn’t end well.

It always seemed odd to me that the Saudis couldn’t nourish their Neighbors to the South or the rest of the poor Arab States with a share in their economic feast...
A spoonful of Socialism in the right mouths could stop a lot of grumpy tummies !  New Zealand could help teach them that only our spoons seem to be shrinking .

Koch Brothers vs Pope Francis

Posted 29th April 2015 to the Southland Times Newsdesk Invercargill NZ

You might not know that the Democratic Secretary of State for Wisconsin has his office staff stripped to one by the Koch Brothers Governor
Scot Walker and his office shoehorned into a small room in the Basement of the State Capital Building..

Now the Brother Koch are after Pope Francis !

Looks like the Koch Brothers Neglected to buy the Vatican Elections as well..
They can't stand lefties! They should strip the Pope of all his staff and make him work out of a basement in the Vatican until he sees the light
And embraces OIL as the one true God!

ODT - Pete's Dragon - Mt Titiroa NZ

Posted 24 April 2015 to the Otago Daily Times Newspaper Dunedin NZ.

It’s good to see Disney coming to New Zealand to Film Pete’s Dragon and Fun for Tapanui locals to see what its like having a Hollywood Money hit town
but I have noticed that these big event location shoots of late rarely show off the more attractive places in our country which kind of defeats the tax incentives our Government gives these guys. Off the top of my head I think I can say Tapanui is not exactly our most Scenic showcase Town.

Hugh Wolverine Jackman and even our own Peter Jackson seemed to go out of the way to drag crews to non-descript locations  miles down gravel roads in the middle of no-where.

Invercargill People seem to be disappointed about Tapanui grabbing all the Lime light as no Doubt are some Dunedin People.
In Fiordland we feel we have a good product to offer as well, we even by pure chance discovered a Stone likeness of a Pixar like Dragon Rider in the Hunter Mountains!

So we should be on the location casting list for brand New Zealand I recon... And Dunedin is pretty sexy on the Big Screen too!

Trip Advisor Blues - New Zealand

Posted 21st April 2015 to the Mountain Scene Newspaper Queenstown NZ

 Sir:
For years we have laboured away at providing a happy accommodation environment for travelers to the farthest West of NZ

But now we have the Internet portal for on line abuse  and if you get a Plumbing Problem on a weekend
With no plumber handy Expect to be bashed! And don’t be surprised if people use child safety as a club.

If there is one thing some Modern Travelers hate is bad luck. If it effects them in anyway someone has to pay
It’s Common now that you have to go online and put the boot in instead off a word of concern to the owner.

And if you are catering for the Budget Traveler with Children, expect the gloves to come off !
They will “black” you for their Camper Rental Problems to the Local Petrol Station, other guest’s children and even the tepid Coffee at the local CafĂ©.

And People still say Tourism is a good vocation?
