Kim Hill - Al Gore vs Rupert Murdoch

Posted to Radio New Zealand 17th May 2014 to Mark Cubey Radio New Zealand

Al Gore is right that the Popular Media is the engine of Democracy
But it’s so clogged up with Real-estate and Sports and childish nonsense
I stops serving as a historic Record and turns into something nasty
Especialy when the Aussie Press Barons use it to for mass political Mind control,

It becomes a angry monster with a huge carbon foot print that is pushing civilisation over a cliff...

Dam Lucky for us Al Gore gave us the Internet !

Southland Times - Public Opinion ?

Posted 28th May 2014 to the Southland Times Invercargill NZ

To the Gate Keepers:

With all the Restructuring in the Print Media I have to ask
How does Fairfax Southland handle Public opinion ? Is it a Simple Vetting Process in Invercargill
Or is it subbed out to a Hub far far away ?

I have been contributing for decades but I am still not truly Enlightened as to the mysterious mechanics of Public Opinion selection.

I like to treat “opinion” as voluntary community Journalism especially now as Newspapers just can’t afford boots on the ground like they use to...

So opinion gets selected / edited just like Staff Stories... ?

Southland Times - Costa Concordia & Fiordland

Posted 23rd May 2014 to the Southland Times Invercargill NZ

Why are the Cruise liners avoiding Fiordland and Stewart Island?
I blame the Costa Concordia disaster in the Mediteranian.
If one of those Floating Cities went down in one of our Fjords like Milford Sound it would turn it in to a write off
And It’s probably a risk the cruise companies are not keen to take, even a minor problem off that Coast can
Become a big logistical headache real fast. The Costa Concordia actually had it lucky, and that would have bankruped NZ Let alone Environment Southland!

ODT - Bear Gryll's Tourism

Posted 20th May 2014 to the Otago Daily Times Dunedin NZ

Television cameras can sometimes showcase secret places that are hidden gems.
The Bear Grylls Adventure Series “Get out Alive” filmed by the Discovery Channel
Has showcased an area dubbed “Bear’s Playground” up the Bent Burn near Wanaka where Contestants had to Climb a Vertical 80m Waterfall
To enter a remote Hanging Valley in the Minaret Peaks Region.

Now seen by Millions of Viewers overseas it is likely to be a new Helicopter Destination for adventurers as are many of the Other Bear Grylls Locations
Around the Wanaka Region, and operators are ready to take up the challege.

And there may be a surprise in the final Hobbit Movie later this year.

ODT - Nixon vs John Lennon

Posted 10th of May 2014 to the Otago Daily Times

The problem of what to do about Synthetic Drugs is a no brainier. It seems to have been turned into a local level Political issue
When it is actually a Medical Issue. The whole War on Drugs that was started by President Nixon in the 1970s is where it all went wrong
because recreational drugs where made into a political weapon and as weapons go it worked brilliantly against the anti Nixon population,
taking away their right to vote by putting them in jail or in many cases just down right killing them and decimated whole communities who got caught up
In this nonsense. Some voters even chose to flee the USA all together.
If only Politicians would stick to the job of looking after the welfare of their constitutes and stop insisting they have to Politically Normalise people by force
I believe the National Happiness Index would shoot up dramatically! Politicians, Please leave Health Advisory to the Doctors. Stop this War and let go of your inner Nixon!
In the words of Richard Nixon’s Great Nemesis, John Lennon “Give Peace a Chance”!

Fiordland Advocate - Te Anau on Radio NZ

Posted 8th of May 2014 to the Fiordland Advocate Te Anau NZ

It was nice to hear Te Anau on Radio New Zealand this month on Jim Mora’s “Your Place” Segment
Tour Guides Adam Butcher, Phillipa Murrell and Daniel Anderson did a good job telling our story I think
As they all have a passion for our little outpost of Humanity hanging on the Edge of the Great Fiordland Wilderness.
I did think we came across as a little dull as all the reasons for staying here as opposed to passing through where based on
Fitness and the Great outdoors Walking Sightseeing Kayaking and Fishing with a bit of Flying thrown in (Weather Permitting).
Our area of weakness is as always entertainment, after dark activities, things for Children to do and History. We are short of
Low cost activities apart from maybe free wifi. I live in hope that one day we have a nightly Theatre show of sorts about the Lost Tribe of Fiordland at the Glow worm Caves or an out door stage at Lake Henry or perhaps some kind of Interactive Museum would be nice, or even a display of local Aircraft and Automobiles at the Airport..?
And when is Real Journeys going to sort out the historic Stream Launch Tawera, Te Anau’s only tangable link left to it’s birth?

Southland Times - Nixon's War on Drugs

Posted 7th May 2014 to the Southland Times Invercargill NZ

Regarding Hamish Sutherland’s ambiguous Letter of May 5th

I can agree that the War on Drugs is not really a WAR nor are Drugs the target.

What we are talking about is a Political Fatwa started by President “Despicable Me”
Richard M Nixon himself. Mr Nixon set this bat-shit crazy action in motion turning the State against his opposition voters.

Needles to say it didn’t save him in the end. But though he is long dead and gone he still stabs at us from Hell's Heart.

Thanks to Nixon what is going on today, is not a million miles from the Prohibition Days of the 1920s when the Federal Government deliberately
Poisoned Boot-Leg Alcohol to cause Death and Blindness to scare those who dared to ignore the rules of the Moral Majority.

Beware the heirs of Nixon they are still stalking the Earth causing death and misery every where they go and they have spread globally and
have infiltrated and spread poison in every corner of politics and commerce.

Seriously, People Actually Fled the United States to New Zealand in the 1970’s to get away from Nixon’s insane carnage.

Kim Hill - On Anxiety affliction

posted 3rd May 2014 to Saturdays with Kim Hill on Radio New Zealand

Anxiety is an affliction that has been with us forever
We Humans HAVE to trust each other to survive and thrive, but betrayal is always hanging over us We have to trust our leaders, teachers and Family but often they are not entirely moral people.
and that's anxiety in a nutshell.

That is probably why earthquakes cause such great Anxiety, especially after seeing how our betters behaved
After the last big one.

This is also why we our need Kim Hills to hold Leaders to task and ask hard questions.

BTW The price of Freedom may be eternal vigilance but also... Anxiety...

Southland Times - Navy Fuel from Seawater

Part One posted 29th April 2014 to the Southland Times Invercargill NZ

In your paper on Thurs April 24th buried on page 12 was a small article stating that the US Navy Scientists
Think they have cracked a way of Ship Propulsion using Sea Water as Fuel instead of the Traditional Oil
Based system currently in use...

OK, I see for starters that this is not going to make the Energy Extraction people very happy and
Then one has got to wonder why they appear to plan to confine this new technology to War Ships?

But if this is not just Cold Fusion Part 2 one has to ask why is it not on the Front Page in large print?

I mean “Hey Climate Change, Science has the Answer !” would be a cool headline.

Or am I right in thinking “Climate Change” is really just a codename for Overpopulation?
Still, thank goodness I didn’t invest in any NZ Electricity Shares, now that would be Silly if page 12 is anything to go by.

Part Two posted 3rd May 2014:

Further to your Story about the US Navy making Jet Fuel From Sea Water...
I happen to chat with a couple of really Bright Engineers and I checked your April 24th page 12 story about Fuel from Sea Water...
It seems it has been done before but what your article did not say was it is highly Energy intensive.

However... They now have improved on the Process, so it is feasible a Sea Side town with a large Energy Supply at it’s disposal say like one from a defunked
Aluminium Smelter, Could Crank up a lucrative fuel Refinery without needing any Oil or burning any Carbon. And for a Nation let’s say, the size of NZ
It would have the bonus of bringing a measure of strategic Self Sufficiency.

Also it is figured Micro Hydro, Wind, Solar and Tidal energy Generation may well come in to their own with this Technology..
