It was good to see the McGillicuddy Clan on the front page of the ODT, December 30th
And a mention of the Waitati Militia, Oddly I thought the Militia had disbanded as we have not heard of them for years,
It looked as if the last bastian of Alf’s imperial Army left was Oamaru, Good to read they are back but there was no mention of the
Linsky’s or the Wizard of Dunedin.. A one time Resident of the old Gothic Dominican building known now Hogwarts Backpackers.
The early Alf’s have a bit of an old boys facebook presence these days, and some old battles on Youtube, but their best legacy has to be the annual Larnach Castle Ball.
And I bet more than a few Yarns..

The Waitati MIlitia mentioned in the ODT article are not part of Alfs' Imperial Army at all, they're the original Waitati Militia, founded in Waitati in the early 1970s, sometime before the Wizard of Dunedin came upon the scene and and the name became associated with he and his 3rd New Edinburgh Highlanders Rgt. There are still Alf regiments in Hamilton, Wellngton and Oamaru however.
